Laurence Boxhall

Laurence recently performed the role of Gollum in GWB’s The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale, both for the Australian tour and abroad. His performance was critically acclaimed by reviewers and audiences alike. In the same year, he played Tom in Tennessee William’s The Glass Menagerie for State Theatre Company South Australia, followed by Reverend Green in the 2026 Australian tour of Cluedo for Crossroads Live, and most recently Ben/Duncan in Housework for STC/STCSA.

Previous stage work over the last two years includes producing and starring in the Australian premiere of Milked, directed by Iain Sinclair, Switzerland at Ensemble Theatre, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? for GWB/Red Stitch, and Laertes in Hamlet for Australian Shakespeare Company, again directed by Iain Sinclair. Further stage work includes Christopher Wren in the 70th anniversary tour of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap for Crossroads Live, As You Like It and Shakespeare in Love, both directed by Simon Phillips for Melbourne Theatre Company, Punk Rock for Patalog Theatre, A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Australian Shakespeare Company and Jumpy for MTC/STC, directed by Pamela Rabe.

On screen, Laurence’s credits include the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man, the Gen Z captain in Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation (Channel 9), Ronny Chieng: International Student (ABC), Deadline Gallipoli (Foxtel/Matchbox Pictures), Neighbours (Channel 10), Spirit of the Game (feature film), Worst Year Of My Life…Again (ABC) and award-winning web series Dave and Theo.

A highly skilled and award-winning voice over artist, Laurence has narrated a large number of audiobooks including Full Throttle and Like, Follow, Die for Audible, and The Grunts Series, for which he was named one of the ten Best New Voices in 2020 by The Publishers Association in the UK. A skilled magician, Laurence served as sleight-of-hand consultant for MTC’s Topdog/Underdog.
