Mark Saturno

Mark Saturno is an award-winning actor who trained at The Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, Shakespeare and Co. in Massachusetts and completed a Diploma in Performance Art at Adelaide Centre for the Arts (AC Arts).

Mark recently appeared in Death of a Salesman alongside Anthony La Paglia and at the Sydney Opera House in The Normal Heart for Sydney Theatre Company. Prior to this he played the lead in State Theatre Co South Australia’s World Premiere of Jack Maggs by Samuel Adamson.

Mark is a regular actor for State Theatre Company of South Australia, recently appearing in The Heartbreak Choir, The Goat, Or Who is Sylvia? (also at STC), The Normal Heart, Antigone, Hibernation, as Eddie Carbone in A View from the Bridge, Betrayal (also at MTC), Vale, Maggie Stone, Blasted, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), romeo+juliet, Solstice, The Club and The Torrents. In 2021 he appeared as the iconic Richard Roma in Flying Penguin Production’s acclaimed production of Glengarry Glen Ross.

His film and TV credits include The Debt, Kangaroo Island, Diabolic, Alpha Test, Lie Down/Breathe Out, Something’s Not Quite Right (Best Actor – Geelong Film Festival), Merry Christmas, Mr. Maroni, First Day, Thin Ice, Awoken, ANZAC Girls, Deadline Gallipoli, Changed Forever, Law & Order, Law & Order CI, All My Children, Spin City, My Normal and Heaven’s Burning.

Mark was based in New York City for eleven years where he appeared on Broadway in The Retreat from Moscow (Booth Theatre) and Off-Broadway in Howard Katz, An Oak Tree, John Ferguson, The Comedy of Errors, Trainspotting, Ancestral Voices and Gone Missing (London and Brooklyn). He also appeared in over a dozen theatrical productions in various esteemed theatres across the USA.

Mark won the Individual Award at the 2019 Adelaide Critics Circle Awards for his role as Eddie Carbone in A View from the Bridge.
